no sé en argentina, pero aca en Chile es imposible encontrar DVD9, por lo menos a un precio que valga la pena.

como no va a haber otra release, aunque sea dividida en 2 DVD5??

Act of War REAL DVD5 Conversion!

For those that have aquired the excellent 'Act Of War'.......you will know its a DVD9 disk - 5.25Gb!...........kinda stuck if you don't have a DL burner or DL disks!!

Well.....fear not!.........lets get that baby onto a normal 4.7Gb DVD!

We do this by removing the 'language' data you don't need........and here is my guide for doin so.........

(note - this is to keep the English data only)

1 - Extract the DVD9 Act Of War .iso (Winiso or Ultraiso will suffice).

2 - Goto Video folder and delete all files EXCEPT Cutscene_00.avi.....Eng_cutscene_00.wav and mplayerc.exe.

DELETE Language (readme.txt) files from Root.

DELETE Manuals/Acrobat files from Manuals except English.

3 - Download i6comp .

3 - Extract the i6comp to the Art Of War root directory.

4 - Go into the 'release' folder and cut or copy the i6comp.exe and paste it into the root dir of AOW.

5 - Get the cmd prompt up and navigate to the AOW root dir.

6 - Get the DOS fingers out.....copy and paste in the commands listed below................

i6comp d data2.cab 90 datav_fr.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 91 datas_fr.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 92 datav_de.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 93 datas_de.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 94 datav_it.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 95 datas_it.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 96 datav_es.dat

i6comp d data2.cab 97 datav_es.dat

7 - Once this is all done......check the filesize of the whole AOW folder.....it should be about 3.36 GB!

8 - Go into the AOW dir and delete all the i6comp folders and files so in total after this is done you should have 23 Items.

9 - Open up Winiso/Ultraiso and create an iso of the files and folders.

Burn to normal 4.7Gb DVD!

Works fine and dandy ho!!

hi folks.

this is my very first post here and i hope, i can do a favour to you all.

i just wanted to explain, how to turn the dvd9 version of aow to a working dvd5 version without wasting money for a dl dvd-/+r.

first of all, you need to download WinPack 2.31 (3.00b works also). extract it to a temp dir and let it remain here. then copy the whole dvd-content of the game into a temp dir too. now start up WinPack and do the following:

- select IS 6.0
- Load packed file and select data1.cab (a little msg appears, confirm with ok)

now you get the whole .cab content showed. scroll down till you get to Group 32. from this point begins the language content. now select the language you don´t prefer (e.g. french, italian, german,...) and click on "delete a group". a dox-cmd-box pops up and should do some work. when the box disappears and the group was deleted. now you can proceed with the other "language groups" until you get the size to fit on a dvd5 recordable.

now you can burn the game down on a dvd-/r. and don´t forget the no-dvd !!!

ahora mi duda es la siguiente para el que lo haya bajado, es multilenguaje, con español?? porque si no es asi la guia esta excelente, sino habra que tratar de conseguir dejar el español en vez de otro idioma.

la verdad se supone que el juego trae varios idiomas, viene con ENGLISH, SPANISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN.

Y esa "data" creo que solo dejo el idioma en ingles. abra que averiguar como sacar solo los idiomas FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN.

pero en la segundo "data" creo que dicen que se puede elegir el lenguaje, no se abria que ver.

Que weno se podran eliminar los idiomas que uno no quiera.

PD: veremos como Pag de torrent saquen este juego en solo Español e Ingles.
Hay que ver si uno se baja el original y hace estos pasos o espero que alguna pag de torrent lo haga primero.
