A diferencia de su antecesor, Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage utilizará una perspectiva en primera persona similar a la mayoría de los juegos de este estilo. El videojuego estaba previsto para el año pasado, pero como la empresa no finalizaba el desarrollo, se decidió posponer el lanzamiento para abril de este año.
Iceberg Entertaiment distribuirá esta versión que tendrá mejor calidad gráfica y jugabilidad en relación a su predecesor. Esta es la segunda parte de una serie de tres títulos donde tendremos la posibilidad de elegir entre 3 diferentes niveles de dificultad: Standar, Detective o Senior Detective.
